John Schneider, Pastor
John’s first career was as a technical trainer in the Administrative Computing department at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), which sometimes led to great fun, because he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Michigan State University (Go Green!). Since then, he’s been a pastor for over 25 years, helping people to find their place in God’s big scheme. John says, “Jesus told us to love God with all our being, and to love others like we love ourselves. Let’s work on getting really good at that, together.”
Jan runs the church office (open Wednesday through Friday, 9am-2pm). She and her husband, Arnold have been active in Hardy Church for many years. There are few questions that Jan can’t answer, and for those few, she knows who to ask.
Carolyn is the Hardy Music Director. She plays piano during worship and directs the choir, as well. Carolyn starts worship about ten minutes before 10:00 a.m. by asking those present to pick their favorite songs to sing. Then, we sing with all our might. Her husband, Paul, runs the sound equipment during worship.
Our Team of Liturgists
Arnold, Carolyn B., Evelyn, Jill, Paula, and Darla are Sunday morning worship leaders. At minimum, they supervise the time of announcements and read the key Bible passages of the day. On many Sundays, they are called to lead prayers and provide other leadership during worship. If you would like to be a liturgist, talk to Pastor John or Carolyn Siivola.
Pastor John and other volunteers help our youth to know Jesus and love others. The youth even have their own meeting room.
Peggy and Jenny head our children’s ministry team. They teach the children in Sunday School, during Sunday worship, as well as host children’s parties, on several Saturdays each year. Mark and Dave provide care for toddlers, during Sunday morning worship.
There are many individuals who do the little things that make Hardy Church run smoothly on Sunday mornings and during the week. We believe that every Christian is a servant minister. We thank and support every one who takes on that challenge to spread God’s love and make the world better.
