The youth meet Sunday nights at 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Upper Room, their own special space at the south end of our building, to build faith and have fun.
It has now become a tradition for the group to go to Camp Barakel for a weekend winter retreat. The outdoor sports are excellent; they have a huge sledding hill and large sheet of ice for broom ball (helmets required). The indoor worship is outstanding, if you like rock and roll praise music
and good Bible teaching. A weekend at camp has proven to build faith and build relationships.
We ENCOURAGE our youth to participate in ministries, like Meals-on-Wheels, and nursing home visits… and they love doing it; making a difference in the community. They have also packed boxes for overseas military service personnel, packed meals for needy people around the world, and helped in vital roles at Vacation Bible School, just to name some more of the ways they serve the community.
“The youth are NOT the future of the church. They already ARE an important part of the church. We have youth who serve as ushers, greeters, choir members, and worship leaders, on Sunday morning. 100% of them participate in ministries that help others, both inside and outside of the church building walls. They are role-models showing us all what active Christians look like.” +++Pastor John
